Chris Burden - Labour Councillor
My name is Chris Burden and I’m your Labour Councillor for Fallings Park, City of Wolverhampton Council.
My name is Chris Burden and I’m your Labour Councillor for Fallings Park, City of Wolverhampton Council.
I was selected by residents of Fallings Park to be their Labour candidate for City of Wolverhampton Council in the 2021 Local Elections. Residents put their faith in me due to their shared values of Common Sense Politics, and the need for change in the city.
I’m a proud Wulfrunian and was born and bred in the city which I call home. I qualified as a teacher after training at the University of Wolverhampton, and I have taught in deprived areas around the Black Country. I’ve seen the immense pride which our kids take in their identity, and it’s our responsibility to ensure that Wolverhampton gives them the opportunities they need to succeed.
For the past two years, I’ve been a founding member of the West Midlands Young Combined Authority and have held the inaugural position of Co-Chair since August. Our young people deserve better than the current hand they’ve been dealt, and I’ve used this position in order to campaign for their empowerment in Wolverhampton and the wider region.
If I am elected, I promise to give Fallings Park the voice it needs on the Council. Our residents deserve people standing up for them, and our city should be providing the opportunity for employment, training and education.
